GE HealthCare Upgrades 2026 Financial Outlook Following Strong Third-Quarter Results

GE HealthCare has announced its third-quarter financial results, reporting total revenues of $5.5bn and prompting the imaging manufacturer to raise its financial outlook for the year 2026. The company stated that Q3 revenues reflected a 7.2% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Following the announcement, the company adjusted its projected 2026 earnings to a range between $4.95 and $5.05 per share, representing an increase from its earlier estimate of $4.80 to $5 per share.

Revenue Breakdown and Segment Growth

The majority of the company quarterly revenue continued to originate from its advanced imaging solutions segment, which brought in approximately $3.8bn. Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical diagnostics division and patient care solutions generated $846m and $793m, respectively. In terms of year-over-year performance, the pharmaceutical diagnostics segment delivered the highest growth margin at over 13%, marking its fifth consecutive quarter of at least high single-digit growth according to company executives. Patient care solutions and advanced imaging solutions grew by 8.5% and 6.1%, respectively.

Strategic Investments in Radiopharmaceuticals

The pharmaceutical diagnostics portfolio encompasses contrast media and radiopharmaceutical imaging agents, such as myocardial perfusion imaging and Flyrcado. This expansion coincides with GE HealthCare agreement to acquire contract manufacturing organization SOFIE Biosciences for $945m. Flyrcado received US Food and Drug Administration clearance in September 2024 and is produced by SOFIE. Company leadership noted that the acquisition is intended to broaden patient access to novel radiopharmaceuticals by integrating SOFIE network of 15 manufacturing sites and a theranostics-focused development facility.

  • GE HealthCare reported $5.5bn in total revenue for the third quarter.
  • The pharmaceutical diagnostics segment achieved year-over-year growth exceeding 13%.
  • The company updated its full-year 2026 earnings per share forecast.

Industry analysts observing the transaction note that the upcoming integration into GE HealthCare structure may introduce complex market dynamics within the nuclear imaging sector. Because SOFIE currently manufactures products for competing firms, including agents associated with Lantheus, the finalized acquisition will establish intersecting financial and manufacturing relationships between the competing entities once the transaction concludes.
